We are the West Creek Outfitters, L.L.C.

We strive to offer safe hunting and fishing opportunities in an un-crowded and un-hurried environment at affordable prices. Nestled in the beautiful Flint Hills of southeastern Kansas, we have been in business since 1994.

Owner Bob Henderson calls his property the Flat Rock Ranch and has over 65 years of hunting experience in the Great Plains, and now wants to share his experience with others. Offering tremendous hunting, fishing, and bird/wildlife watching opportunities, our ranch also raises beef cattle, soybeans, and corn.

Our property consists of 1000 acres with about 6000 additional leased acres. Located in Greenwood County, the Flat Rock Ranch is about 40 miles south of Emporia, Kansas or 70 miles east-northeast of Wichita, Kansas. The rolling terrain has a variety of habitats including 4500 acres of native grassland, 500 acres of cropland, and about 2,000 acres of woodlands and savannah-type native grasses.

Most of our clients are repeat customers who have learned the area and look forward to returning. New clients are recruited mainly by word of mouth from our hunters and fishermen. We may be the best kept secret in Kansas! Our land has high hunter success and is a great place to see wild game, and enjoy the native grasslands.

Much of our land is along West Creek, which is eleven miles long and is bordered by timber. West Creek has a year-around clear flow with a rock bottom. Wood ducks, mallards, whitetail deer, wild turkey, and quail frequent the creek. Rainfall in this area is 37” per year. All of our leased land has rain runoff ponds scattered throughout the area which are stocked to offer sport fishing opportunities, including fly fishing.
